      Sales Funnel Templates

Use sales funnel templates to create effective sales funnels for growing businesses. The templates are customizable so they can fit any brand or product.

Details will differ based on the specific goal of the sales funnel is. There are single or multi-product sales funnel templates that are great for highlighting a specific product or set of products. They can also be a great fit for event or webinar sales, course sales or membership sales.

No matter what type of sales funnel template you choose, its main goal is to convert leads into paying customers.

      The Sales Process

The sales process is the path you pave for leads to walk down from the time of introducing them to your business and to becoming a customer. The beginning of the process consists of advertising your brand. Building awareness about your products and services and creating business leads.

A lead generation funnel can help to build awareness about your brand and point more people into your sales funnel. Without leads, your process can starve. So while it is an easy step to skip, lead generation should be an important part of a healthy selling process.

On SME Site Builder you can find options for a lead magnet funnel template to pair with your sales funnel.

There are 7 specific steps that are crucial to effectively grow your income.

What are the 7 steps of the

      sales funnel process?

Every business should have a method for how they get a sale. A tried and true process to gain customers. These are the seven well-known stages of a basic sale cycle that make it easy to outline your process for sales.

      1. Prospecting

Prospecting is the number one place to start when trying to make a sale. This can start with honing in on your target audience, making an ideal customer persona, theirs, and compiling a list of places they might come across information for a business like yours.

      2. Making contact

Making contact with your potential leads is the next step to the sales cycle so you can focus your efforts towards leads that are most likely to become a customer. A goal for this stage might be to gather X amount of emails through a lead generation funnel.

Making contact is an important step to consider, since how you reach out can impact the type of reaction you might get from a potential client. Maybe social media is a great option for a business selling athletic wear but perhaps a handwritten postcard is more meaningful for a higher ticket item like a wedding ring.

      3. Qualifying your prospect

Qualifying leads will be a great way to continue to dial in on the people with the most potential for using your products or services. There are many factors you can consider when qualifying a lead.

A top one to consider is their level of need. Other things to take into consideration are things like the time frame the lead is on, how they make decisions, what their budget is and more. You can use many different methods to qualify a lead from data collection to speaking directly with your leads.

      4. Nurturing your prospect

Nurturing your prospect includes things like offering them relevant and valuable content that they will find useful. As well as promoting your brand and keeping them up to date on your products or services.

Great customer service and prompt communication are invaluable when it comes to building loyal customers. Lastly, it keeps you in contact so that they don’t forget about you.

      5. Presenting your offer

Now that you have built a relationship and gained the trust of your leads it is time to present them with your offer. Be straight to the point and clearly outline how they can accept your offer. A video sales letter is something being used more commonly today that can see immediate results

      6. Overcoming objections

Naturally, some leads will still have reservations. Now is the time to reassure them that you are solving a problem for them and it is valuable. To be the most prepared for this stage you should make a list of possible objections and have a sincere response to put those reservations to rest.

The more understanding you can be the more comfortable a lead will feel when deciding if they can trust you or not.

      7. Closing the sale

The last stage is to close the deal. However works best for you, just make sure the leader knows exactly what to do and what they will be getting.

      Sales Funnel Stages

There are 4 stages to a sales funnel. At the top, it starts wide and as you progress through each phase of the funnel it will get more narrow as fewer potential customers will trickle through to every phase. These are general stages that all businesses should organize their activities into when developing their sales strategies. They are attention, interest, desire, and action.

The first step, or the top of the sales funnel, is attention. This is the stage where people might be realizing they have a problem or need. They are becoming aware of this issue and starting to pay attention to how it is affecting them.

It is possible that they may not even realize they have a certain problem until they are aware of your business and the solution you offer. Someone might find out about your business through a Facebook ad, someone else might have heard about you from a friend. No matter how they find you, having a clear brand and memorable advertisements will help draw attention to you.

Still, not everyone will decide to step in and through your funnel. You may have to generate a large amount of brand awareness to gather an acceptable amount of interest.

The second stage of the sales funnel is interest. Now that someone is aware of a problem they want to solve, they will usually start to research the problem and check to see what kind of answers are available.

Only the options that are valuable enough are going to really capture their interest. The people that see your product will make quick judgments about how good of a solution it will be.

Advertise your product in an engaging way that highlights why your product is the best choice out there.

There are tons of ways you can stand out from the crowd to make your business interesting and memorable to leads. The more interesting you can be will determine how many leads will go through to the next phase of the sales funnel.

The third stage of the sales funnel is the decision. At this point, your lead is familiar with your company and is showing interest in what you have to offer. Now they will begin to seriously question if the product is right for them.

Proactively answer any questions they might have. Does this product actually solve a problem they need to solve? Is it better than the alternative option they could choose? Is the price right? There are so many things that the buyer could consider when looking at your product.

Your job is to anticipate any obstacles that might be in the way of them becoming a new customer and address them before your leads have the chance to walk away.

The last stage of the sales funnel is action. This is the most narrow point at the bottom of your sales funnel. All the prior steps are in place to set this stage up for success.

To get the most leads making a purchase you want to outline a call to action for them to follow that is clear as day. “Limited edition print, buy now!” Place it directly on a checkout page. Don’t worry about being too pushy. If your leads have made it thus far they are already considering you for their buying journey and it is time to close the sale.

They will be glad when they purchase because it is a well-researched and educated decision. Thanks to your marketing strategies you will alleviate their doubts and they will know the reasons why buying your product is the best option for them.

Not every lead will go through your funnel and become a customer right away. Stay true to the process and focus on the leads that show the most potential. If they don’t decide to buy now you can follow up with additional contact to finish persuading them. Make sure you have an opt-in form where they can provide an ema

      The Customer Journey

The customer journey encompasses the whole process that a customer experiences when going through the steps it takes to become a customer. When you look at the customer journey it can give insight as to what their experiences were, how they felt, and why they purchased.

It isn’t just centered around new customers either, the customer journey map details the point of view of returning customers as well, providing an opportunity to focus on creating repeat buyers.

This can be a powerful tool to use when setting up your sales funnel. A sales funnel should be specific to your business and target market. It can’t be effective if it is aiming toward the wrong crowd. The more accurate you are the better it will be able to generate leads.

Imagine you are looking to buy something like a play tunnel for a toddler. When you search for play tunnels to purchase an ad appears for one but when you open the ad you find out it is a pet play tunnel designed for cats. No matter how high quality the tunnel is you are not going to buy the product.

This is why it is important to optimize each funnel to fit its specific audience. The better you can do this the more site visitors you will be able to get, and you can spend less time trying to convert cold prospects.

Knowing the pain points of your ideal customer can help you position yourself to be their best solution. To do this it’s important to take the time to outline your customer journey.

A great way to do this is to create a customer persona. The customer persona is a representation of your ideal customer based on the preferences and actions of real customers.

It combines basic demographic information with more personal information like what their motivations are, what their frustrations are. It assumes what their interests and hobbies are and what types of media and brands they prefer.

Armed with the details of what makes your customers tick you can outline the processes they would go through to purchase your products, from beginning to middle and end.

Ask yourself, how did they hear about your product? What situation do they experience that would make them seek out a product like yours? How does it make them feel and what are their alternative solutions?

The more specific the customer persona and the customer journey map the more clear your big picture will be. Use this map to communicate to your audience in the way they want to be spoken to.

Create a sales funnel with a highly optimized landing page that will give customers what they are looking for. Fill your content with pieces that appeal to their emotions and use the things that are known to influence their decisions.

      Sales Page

A high-quality sales page is a major component of a successful sales funnel. To get the best results a sales page should have only one option, to buy the product or leave the page. The fewer distractions for the potential buyer the better.

This is not the place to add details about your business or upcoming products. Use your website to educate a qualified lead and drive website traffic to your funnel.

The focus of this page is to sell the featured product. Any sales funnel that is great at making conversions will have a great sales page.

      Email Marketing Campaign

A tool that is time-tested and remains one of the best ways to effectively implement a digital marketing strategy is email marketing. Getting a person's email gives you the chance to market directly to them, nurturing the lead relationship in a personal way. That is why there is such a large focus on growing email lists for online businesses today.

It has become so common for websites to ask for a user's email address that people are starting to decline. People are choosing not to provide contact information unless they find the business they are viewing to be valuable enough to hear from again.

You can use an email marketing campaign within your sales funnel to boost your success. One way to do this is to use a lead magnet like an enticing discount code to drive traffic to your sales funnel. The lead magnet you use is only able to be accessed after the lead joins your mailing list.

Getting the email is a great way to capture leads and communicate with your online consumers. Sales teams can craft specific action plans for converting qualified leads.

You can automate a series of emails that are crafted for your sales leads. One of the great things about this is you can send them personalized offers periodically to encourage them to make an initial purchase. People will be more likely to buy from you when they don’t have to go to your website browsing and comparing options.

You can send a weekly or monthly newsletter so keep in touch with your leads. If there are any business updates or new products about to launch it is a great way to stay in front of your audience.

Loyalty program emails can help to increase customer loyalty, so they are more likely to ignore competitors and frequent your site.

One more helpful advantage to email marketing is the ability to remind your customer about their cart. You can set an automated cart abandonment email and push your customers to follow through with making the purchase they were considering.

These are just some of the many benefits that can be seen by adding a quality email marketing campaign to your sales funnel. It is also much more time-efficient compared to phone calls

      Targeted Traffic

You need targeted traffic to drive people into your sales funnel. A sales funnel will convert leads into customers but you have to get them there first. The best way to consistently drive traffic to your site and your funnels is to produce high-quality products, services, and content.

SEO is a great way to make yourself relevant when your target market members are searching for something that your product or service is the answer to. If you can master SEO you can get a higher ranking on google and more views from people who are searching for things relevant to your business.

If you consistently create high-quality content, choose killer titles, headers and know your keywords this is a great traffic source for business.

Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest are just a handful of social media platforms that are popular and widely used choices when it comes to traffic sources. You can create a business account on most social media platforms now because it is so common to promote through these social channels.

Although using social media to promote a brand may seem to be as easy as running a personal account that is not always the case as it is such a competitive space. Many businesses can feel pressured to keep up with the standard that has been set by larger companies and influences to post every day, sometimes multiple times a day.

To match their volume it is easy to water down your brand by posting irrelevant content or things that don’t have much value for your target market. Instead of over-sharing, you can create groups and communities where your members feel like they are a part of something that brings them value. Only post or share things that add value or joy to your target audience.

Paid traffic sources can be a really effective way to get more people looking at your funnel. If you have the resources and want a speedy result this might be your best option. Research different paid traffic source options to see what their google rating is, what their customer reviews say, and how many search engines they operate on.

Google ads are often used by marketing professionals but there are many options out there. For your budget, you can find paid traffic sources that will advertise on a single platform or multi-platforms and will target specific demographics for you. Some of the top options to choose from are Udimi, Taboola, and Outbrain, though there are many other options.

Take the time to target the right traffic sources. The goal is not to reach everyone and convince them to be your customer. It is to find the right people who will want to invest in your mission and will buy from you as a result.

      Sales Funnel vs Website

Why use us over competitors like WordPress

It is true that you can use sites like WordPress and create your own sales funnels. But that might not be a commitment you want to undertake if you are busy with running your business.

Unless you have an aptitude for website design this can often be more of a daunting task than what was expected. Giving you unneeded stress and complications while you are trying to manage a growing business.

You will have to jump through some hoops before you can even get started. Like creating your WordPress account, choosing a hosting plan, setting up your payment arrangements between both accounts.

When you feel close to getting started on your sales funnel, slow down again, because first, you might need to learn about sales funnel software. You may need to research what plug-ins you will need to download and activate to make sure your new WordPress site is going to have the functionality you need.

Do you want people to be able to add items to a shopping cart? How about checking out from your site? How about collecting their information in an email list? You will need a separate plug-in for all of that.

If you already have a website with a shop page do you really need to bother with a sales funnel? The answer is yes. Sales funnels can be instrumental in increasing your conversions.

A website is important in today’s online world, but just because people look at your sales page does not mean they will buy something. It is much more efficient to bulk up your website by pairing it with a high-quality sales funnel.

A website can do a great job of attracting customers. It can tell the story of your business and help to nurture relationships which are all important. But it doesn’t always do a great job at closing the sale.

A dedicated sales funnel is different because instead of listing all of your products and services it showcases one thing. One item or one service is a must-have for your viewer.

It clearly outlines the value you are providing by offering this one thing and why the viewer should buy it right now. There is no contact us or about pages or anything else to distract the visitor.

The sales funnel pushes the viewer through the funnel, from landing page to buy now page to thank you page. And unlike a website, you can set triggers for your sales funnel, so that person who left the funnel without making a purchase can get an email in half an hour asking if they forgot something.

Everything about a sales funnel is designed to make a conversion.

A website is important and can lead to sales for your business. But if you are looking to drive sales and increase your conversion rates in a significant way then a sales funnel is the way to do it.

Not to mention the fact that plug-ins need updating. And you will have to manage that constantly to make sure your site is running smoothly. Why take the time to set up a sales funnel if it won’t load properly for people to see?

And what’s even more of a headache, WordPress themes are made by different creators and therefore are not all compatible.

Oftentimes you need to know some HTML to get your site set up how you want it because they are not always easily customizable. And if you find a template that is easily customizable it probably doesn’t have the capability to scale with you if your business is a hit.

If you need to upgrade your site chances are it won’t be able to integrate into a new platform, meaning you could have to start from scratch. This could end up costing you much more in time and money in the long run than if you used a solution like SME Sitebuilder to create your sales funnel.

SME Sitebuilder solves all of these problems by offering fully customizable templates that are ready for you to use. No need to find hosting, worry about plugins, or stress over who will keep the back end of your site up to date.

And if you decide you need more services down the road we can help with that too.

      Types of Sales Funnels

There is a wide range of types of funnels that sales reps use with success. The templates created by SME Site Builder are all fully customizable so if there is something you want to be able to add to your funnel we can make that happen.

      Product launch funnel

When you launch a new product you want everyone to know about it. A product launch funnel helps you get the word out. It is a great way to tell your audience what is to come and test their level of interest before you actually launch.

A simple product launch funnel can look something like this:

Landing page/opt-in page thank you page
You can of course as in other steps, like a sales page as well.

It helps gather emails for communication down the road and gives them some time to get comfortable with your brand before they get hit with any pressure to purchase. It can work well with higher ticket items that people might want to contemplate more before deciding to buy.
